With over 26 years of entrepreneurial experience, AuntieA’s is well stocked and well positioned to keep shipping despite shelter in place restrictions. Because we use food grade natural grain in our products, we have always emphasized keeping the warehouse clean and sanitary. We are also closely monitoring our health to make sure no one with signs of illness is handling our products.
AuntieA’s, the US Postal Service and UPS are all taking precautions to make sure your package will be safe to handle when it is delivered to you. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures.” The World Health Organization agrees, saying, “the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, traveled, and been exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.”
Since our products are heated in the microwave, they are disinfected every time you heat them. According to the CDC, “The microwaves produced by a “home-type” microwave oven (2.45 GHz) completely inactivate bacterial cultures, mycobacteria, viruses, and G. stearothermophilus spores within 60 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the challenge organism." AuntieA’s DOES NOT recommend you heat your Bed&Body Warmer longer than 3 minutes in the microwave. Soap and water are also an excellent way to kill viruses, so we recommend you wash the cover of your Bed&Body Warmer regularly. DO NOT wash the inner bag of the Bed&Body Warmer, or wash Boot Dragon warmers or the Foossage foot and body massager. These are all best disinfected in the microwave.
I am happy to be using my Boot Dragon ski and snowboard boot warmers this winter, after a shortened season last winter. I hope, with everyone's cooperation, that ski resorts will be able to remain open this winter for some much needed outdoor recreation. Now is the time to focus on the health and well-being of ourselves, our friends, our community and our world. Be safe, stay healthy and most of all, stay warm.
