Frequently Asked Questions

What’s In It?

The ingredients in the Bed&Body Warmer are specially selected, food-grade grains and all-natural spices. The specific types of grains and spices are our secret.

How Does It Work?

When heated, microwaves from the oven accelerate the water molecules in the grains. The friction of the water molecules creates heat. The kernel of the grain absorbs the heat, and the thousands of grains retain the heat. Shake the bag before use and readjust it occasionally during use to ensure even heat distribution.

Won’t The Grains Dry Out?

Yes, they can through extensive use of the product. The grains naturally reabsorb moisture from the humidity in the air. Thus, the heat from the Bed&Body Warmer will be more moist in humid climates than it will in dry climates. If you use the Bed&Body Warmer daily, storing it in a humid place, such as the bathroom, will help it absorb more moisture.

Will The Grains Cook?

Not if you use the Bed&Body Warmer according to the heating instructions. Grains require lots of moisture to cook; more than is naturally found in the grain.

Why Remove the Cover Before Heating?

Removing the flannel cover helps protect it from shrinking when exposed to the heat and moisture the grains release during the microwaving process.

Why All Those Safety Precautions?

If you remember your high school physics, heat applied to the body speeds up the flow of blood. Therapeutically, this is good. However, heat is not appropriate for some people. Keep in mind that precautions for the Bed&Body Warmer are the same as the precautions for electric heating pads and hot water bottles. If you can use these products, you can use the Bed&Body Warmer.

If you have insensitive skin (no sense of feel) you can’t feel how hot the Bed&Body Warmer is. Thus, you might burn yourself and we don’t want this to happen. This is also true for:

  • persons with diabetes, who might have nerve damage limiting their sense of feel,
  • infants, who can’t tell you when something is too hot,
  • unconscious persons, who can’t tell you either, and
  • invalids, who can’t remove something that’s too hot.

The increased flow of blood may not be good for people with impaired circulation, heart problems, or who are pregnant. Heat may also speed the growth of cells for people with cancer or malignancies. If you have any questions about whether the Bed&Body Warmer is safe for you, consult your physician.

What is the “Quilted” Model?

The inner bag in the “Quilted” model is evenly divided into three baffles to hold the grain, and the heat, exactly where you want it. This is especially useful when used as a neckwarmer. The copyrighted, unique design allows you to move grain between the baffles.

How Long Will My Bed&Body Warmer Last?
