Company Information

AuntieA’s is a division of Honebein Associates, Inc. We specialize in making simple, inexpensive warmers and massage tools. We use everything we make, and we hope you will love our products as much as we do. Peter and Elizabeth Honebein formed the company in 1994 to market our first product, the Bed&Body® Warmer. As we have grown and introduced new products, we have become experts in customer service, manufacturing, inventory control, and logistics. We’ve developed relationships with major retailers such as Brookstone, Levenger, Plow&Hearth, and Scandia Home. In addition to our wholesale business, we sell directly to consumers on our website: store.auntiea.com. Our enduring relationships with both consumers and retailers are built on our ability to provide consistently high-quality US made goods, at very competitive prices. All our products are manufactured and shipped on a just-in-time basis, usually within 48 hours of the order. The company is based on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada between Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe.
Who is AuntieA’s?
Many of our customers have asked, “Is Auntie A a real person?” Yes, she is the aunt of the company founders. Auntie A has a history of making hand-crafted gifts and a flair for the unusual. Over the years, family members have received everything from parkas to puppets, bean bag chairs to pottery.
Years ago, Auntie A made everyone in the family a Bed&Body Warmer. Where she got the idea for the Bed&Body Warmer is anyone’s guess, since Auntie A has many friends and has traveled around the world. Auntie A’s first Bed&Body Warmers came in all sorts of colors and patterns and were made from old fabric remnants.
The family loved the Bed&Body Warmer. Due to this success, Auntie A suggested that we go into the business of making Bed&Body Warmers. So we did.
We experimented with several prototypes and came up with many improvements. The inner bag–outer cover design was created. Scents were added. And prototype Bed&Body Warmers were sent out to friends around the country for testing. While forming the company, the Honebeins started making Bed&Body Warmers by hand at the dining room table evenings and weekends, and selling them to friends by word-of-mouth.

AuntieA's Creates New Products

Over the years, AuntieA’s has worked with other entrepreneurs and friends to create new products. The Foossage was born when a student at the University of Nevada, Reno approached Dr. Honebein after class one evening. The student showed him a tennis ball in a sock that was used as a foot massager. We worked with the student and his design partner to create the Foossage, a heated foot massager that uses the same natural grain found in the Bed&Body Warmer.
Our Boot Dragon ski and snowboard boot warmer was born at our home mountain, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. We ran into a friend on the chairlift, who told us she had wrapped her Bed&Body Warmer around her boots to warm them as she drove up the mountain that morning. We immediately recognized that a product which fit inside the boots would warm them more efficiently from the inside out. That afternoon, we started designing the Boot Dragon.
While AuntieA’s has grown, all our products are still carefully made by hand in the United States. You can find them in upscale retail establishments and at our on-line store. Thank you for your support of American small business and entrepreneurship.
